GS1 Digital Link & Resolver

One product identity. More ways to connect.

The printed product identity should outlast an individual campaign or web page. Resolver architecture separates that identity from the information and services around it—so packaging can remain the entry point as a brand’s digital experience evolves.

Existing capability

AIQR supports a subset of GS1 Digital Link syntax, product/batch/unit link generation, hosted product pages and existing scan-routing experiences. The free public generator is available now.

Integration & roadmap

Standards-based link discovery and selection, Resolver Description support, brand-domain onboarding and links to authorised EPCIS resources form the Resolver roadmap. AIQR does not currently claim full GS1 Resolver conformance.

01

Identity is permanent; information changes

A campaign ends. Instructions change. A new language or customer service becomes relevant. Separating identity from destinations gives the architecture a way to evolve those resources without redefining the product. Keeping issued addresses reachable is an explicit compatibility requirement.

02

A shared identity, different audiences

The Resolver roadmap connects an identity to a default consumer experience and additional discoverable resources. Each resource still applies its own access rules.

  • Consumers: product information and configured verification or loyalty experiences.
  • Business partners: authorised traceability and EPCIS resources.
  • Future services: certificates, instructions and digital product passport resources.

03

Resolver and EPCIS do different jobs

The Resolver answers where related information can be found. EPCIS represents recorded lifecycle events. A resolver can point to an authorised event resource without publishing that resource’s private contents. A simple redirect and a full standards-conformant Resolver are different levels of functionality.

04

Built around tenant ownership

AIQR’s brands and distributors already operate through tenant-specific settings, roles and modules. Resolver development must preserve those boundaries, establish domain and identifier authority, and retain existing URLs. A valid GTIN checksum does not establish brand ownership.

05

Start with a real product

Use your existing GTIN to preview a product, batch or serialized Digital Link. Add product information and a picture, then register to publish and download. Selecting rewards or tracking records intent; configured workflows require additional setup. Recognising an identifier is not proof that a physical product is genuine.

Common questions

Is a GS1 Digital Link the same as a Resolver?

No. Digital Link expresses identity in a URL. Resolution connects that URL to related resources; full GS1 Resolver conformance adds defined discovery and selection behaviour.

Will existing AIQR QR codes need reprinting?

Preserving issued URLs is a requirement of the upgrade plan. Existing links must be inventoried and compatibility-tested before routing changes.

Can I use my brand domain today?

Brand-owned identity-domain onboarding is part of the Resolver roadmap. Discuss your domain, ownership and migration requirements before printing new packaging.

Standards reference: GS1-Conformant Resolver standard. Implementation status is described above; no certification is claimed.

Production. Identity. History. Engagement.

A connected-product platform. Not just a QR code.

AIQR brings tenant administration, product identity, verification, traceability, loyalty and branded experiences into one modular platform. Gateway, EPCIS and Resolver capabilities connect the factory story to the digital services around each product.

Each capability page distinguishes existing functionality from integration work and planned standards support.
