Traceability & interoperability
EPCIS: give every product a history.
A product identifier tells you which object you are looking at. Its event history tells you what happened to it. AIQR’s traceability module connects product records, packaging relationships and operational events—with EPCIS export capabilities for structured information exchange.
Existing capability
Supply-chain event records, unit journeys, aggregation, shipments, recalls, EPCIS event mapping and JSON-LD/XML export are implemented in the cloud application. Access depends on tenant permissions and enabled modules.
Integration & roadmap
Durable Line Gateway event ingestion, expanded standards validation and a complete EPCIS capture/query interface are integration work—not a claim of a completed conformant repository.
01
Answer operational questions, not just count scans
Give operations teams a route from a serialized product to its recorded events and packaging relationships. Investigate a unit’s history, inspect carton membership, follow shipments or support a recall investigation using the evidence available to the tenant.
- What events have been recorded for this unit?
- Which case or pallet is it associated with?
- Which shipments and affected products need investigation?
02
Use the platform you already manage
EPCIS work builds on AIQR’s existing track-and-trace services and SupplyChainEvent records. Product, batch, code and tenant context remain part of the platform, alongside permissions, subscriptions and administrative controls. It is not a separate QR database or a replacement for the ERP.
03
From verified factory facts to cloud history
The planned Gateway integration captures business events locally, delivers them asynchronously and maps them centrally. Initial scope is commissioning from qualifying physical verification and aggregation from validated carton closure. Printer acknowledgement alone is not proof that a mark was applied. Shipping and receiving require their own authoritative evidence.
04
Keep supply-chain evidence separate from marketing activity
A consumer opening a product page is not automatically a commissioning, shipping or receiving event. Scan analytics and loyalty remain separate workflows. Detailed manufacturing history should be permission-controlled; a public QR is not permission to disclose internal production records.
05
Define the exchange contract before rollout
An implementation review establishes identifier formats, event semantics, location data, corrections, retention and partner access. Existing export and validation helpers are a starting point, not independent certification or proof that every downstream system will accept every event.
Common questions
Does AIQR already have EPCIS functionality?
Yes. The cloud code includes EPCIS event conversion and JSON-LD/XML exports, connected to existing traceability records and GS1 configuration. Complete repository interoperability and end-to-end Gateway ingestion need further implementation and validation.
Does EPCIS replace D365 or the line state machine?
No. ERP business records and Gateway execution remain authoritative for their respective workflows. The integration adds lifecycle evidence and exchange capabilities around them.
Is every customer scan an EPCIS event?
No. Customer scan measurement is distinct from evidence of a physical supply-chain event.
Standards reference: GS1 EPCIS standard. Implementation status is described above; no certification is claimed.
Production. Identity. History. Engagement.
A connected-product platform. Not just a QR code.
AIQR brings tenant administration, product identity, verification, traceability, loyalty and branded experiences into one modular platform. Gateway, EPCIS and Resolver capabilities connect the factory story to the digital services around each product.
